This position focuses on developing, delivering, and evaluating safety training for the workers' compensation community and the general public.  Your work will involve teaching, communication, site evaluations, and guidance on safety regulations.  As a Workers' Compensation Health and Safety Training Specialist, you will perform the following duties:


  • Training Delivery: Plan and teach safety classes and workshops in person and virtually for various audiences
  • Material Development: Create and update pamphlets, videos, posters, newsletters, and other training materials
  • Compliance Support: Help employers understand and follow workplace safety laws and assist with required forms
  • Site Evaluation: Review training locations to ensure they meet learning needs, accessibility rules, and equipment standards
  • Information Guidance: Answer questions about health and safety regulations using clear, easy-to-understand language
  • Program Improvement: Monitor training results and recommend updates based on needs and feedback

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week.  In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.  If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.  The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.  Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Three years of professional experience in planning, developing and conducting health and safety training or education programs, which included the development of lesson plans; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • This particular position also requires possession of a valid driver’s license which is not under suspension.
