This position supports the electrical needs of Fort Indiantown Gap by installing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of electrical systems and fixtures. As an Electrician 1, you will perform the following duties:
- Electrical Work: Perform skilled installation, alteration, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures
- Troubleshooting Skills: Locate and correct power failures and short circuits
- Line and Conduit Tasks: Run new electrical lines and lay out, measure, cut, thread, and bend rigid or thin wall conduit
- Lighting Installation: Install open and concealed wiring, lighting fixtures, fluorescent fixtures, LED fixtures, and replace ballasts
- Equipment Service: Install air conditioners and service both old and new units
- Lead and Safety Duties: Lead assigned helpers, maintain tools and equipment, and follow DMVA safety rules by reporting hazards or incidents immediately

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 1st shift (7:00 AM to 3:00 PM), Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Your schedule may change based on operational needs.
- Overtime as needed
- Essential Employee: You will be required to work during emergencies and office closings.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Successful completion of the Electrician Trainee program (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Four years of experience installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems, components, and equipment; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirement:
- You must possess an active motor vehicle license.
Additional Requirements:
- You must pass a favorable National Crime Information Center (NCIC) screening for admittance to Fort Indiantown Gap.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
