This position focuses on completing training that prepares you to provide basic care and support to residents in a long-term care setting. The role involves steady learning and active participation in daily routines that ensure safety and comfort. As an Aide Trainee, you will perform the following duties:
- Training Participation: Attend classroom sessions and complete on-the-job training to build caregiving skills
- Care Assistance: Support residents with basic needs and assist nursing staff with care requests
- Safety Checks: Maintain secure resident areas by removing hazards and using proper infection control methods
- Meal Support: Transport food items, distribute trays, and promote intake through regular nourishment activities
- Resident Transport: Move residents to activities, appointments, and events using approved equipment
- Equipment Cleaning: Clean medical devices and mobility equipment to support safe daily use

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
- Work Hours: Prior to attending school, you will work 1st shift (6:45 AM to 3:15 PM). After attending school, you will work 1st shift (6:45 AM to 3:15 PM) if available, 2nd shift (3:00 PM to 11:30 PM), or 3rd shift (11:15 PM to 7:45 AM). Working every other weekend is required. All shifts include a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Willingness to work in Spring City, Chester County, Pennsylvania
- Willingness to work full-time 1st shift (6:45 AM to 3:15 PM), 2nd shift (3:00 PM to 11:30 PM), or 3rd shift (11:15 PM to 7:45 AM), including rotating days and weekends. This schedule will be implemented after certification is obtained.
- Willingness to complete training and provide a certification of successfully passing the exam. The position requires 120 hours of training with 42 hours of classroom instruction and 24 hours of lab practice held at our partner location; the remaining 54 hours will take place at a clinical site near the school you attend.
- Work experience caring for geriatric or physically ill individuals
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
