The University of Pittsburgh's Global Experiences Office (GEO) is seeking a Director of Global Programs.

The Director of Global Programs is responsible for the strategic development and management of academic and experiential global programs supporting schools and campuses without school-embedded GEO staff, including UCIS area studies programs. The position will oversee the management, execution, and continued refinement of new and existing program offerings, as well as support of non-credit bearing experiences abroad to meet desired goals and capacity.  The position is responsible for managing professional team members, program-specific operations including budgets, marketing and promotions plans, and other administrative functions relevant to program development. The individual may have a small portfolio of programs which they manage themselves. The position will serve as primary contact for existing and new global program opportunities for UCIS and assigned schools and will work collaboratively across the units.  This individual will also serve on the Pitt GEO steering committee.  This position reports to the Director, Pitt Global Experiences Office.

Oversees planning and execution of one or more programs and defines program scope, goals, and strategic objectives. Designs programs that satisfy the University's mission. Performs budgetary functions and approves program budgets, maintains accurate records of program progress, and conducts administrative tasks. Represents the organization and ensures all activities comply with university policies and legal guidelines.

  • Investigates the organization’s target population and design programs that satisfies their mission and needs.  
  • Drafts, manages, and approves program budgets.
  • Establishes key performance metrics and maintains accurate records on program progress. Provides detailed reports to senior management.
  • Ensures all activities and operations comply with University policies and legal guidelines.
  • Represents the organization in meetings with donors, advocates, the media, or members of the community.
  • Conducts other administrative tasks such as leading meetings and drafting communications.

Little physical effort required. Duties are primarily sedentary. May be required to move objects up to 25 pounds occasionally.
