As an EQT Intern, you will participate in a 12-week paid “real-world experience” internship program. The Corporate Tax Intern will support the Tax Department with a variety of federal, state and local income tax, tax accounting, and non-income tax responsibilities. The intern will work with members of the EQT Tax Qrew to gather and analyze financial data, assist with tax compliance and reporting processes, research tax issues, and help identify opportunities to improve and automate recurring tax processes.
This position will provide hands-on experience with the tax function of a large public company and exposure to the interaction among tax, accounting, finance, legal, operations, and other areas of the business.
Responsibilities:
- Tax return support – gather data and prepare workpapers for federal/state income tax returns (corporate and partnership)
- Provision assistance – help prepare schedules feeding the quarterly/annual income tax provision (book-tax differences)
- Fixed asset/depreciation work – update depreciation schedules, reconcile fixed asset additions/disposals, tag assets to proper tax lives
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, finance, taxation, business, data analytics, or a related field.
- Completion of introductory accounting coursework; tax coursework is preferred but not required.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and willingness to learn.
- Ability to handle confidential financial and tax information appropriately.
