UPMC Shadyside is looking for a Limited Part-Time Sonographer to join our talented and compassionate Ultrasound team. This is a great opportunity to work in a collaborative, patient-centered environment while utilizing advanced imaging technology to make a meaningful impact on patient care every day.

Schedule:

  • Varied shifts Monday through Friday between 6:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
  • Rotating weekend call coverage
  • Occasional overnight call coverage
  • Rotating holiday call coverage

What You'll Do:

  • Perform a variety of diagnostic ultrasound procedures to assist physicians in patient diagnosis and treatment.
  • Obtain high-quality images while utilizing advanced ultrasound equipment and scanning techniques.
  • Review patient histories, verify physician orders, and follow department protocols to ensure optimal imaging outcomes.
  • Educate and support patients throughout procedures, helping create a positive and comfortable experience.
  • Assist physicians during invasive procedures when needed and maintain strict adherence to safety and universal protocol standards.
  • Document patient information accurately and ensure exams are properly coded, tracked, and archived.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional patient care.
  • Demonstrate compassion, professionalism, and respect in every patient and coworker interaction.
  • Participate in equipment maintenance and high-level disinfection processes as required.

  • Completion of formal training in an Ultrasound program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) required.
    Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
     
  • Completion of formal training in an Ultrasound program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) required.
  • RDMS, RVT or ARRT (S) registered or registry eligible preferred.
  • Must obtain RDMS, RVT or ARRT (S) within 12 months of hire date
  • ARRT Certificate OR Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) OR Registered Vascular Technologist
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Act 34
