La Roche University is seeking an International Admissions Counselor who will support departmental efforts to attract and matriculate international students for both degree and non-degree programs. This position works both independently and collaboratively with the international admissions team to manage applications within the assigned territory.

GENERAL DUTIES:
  • In collaboration with the Director, plan, evaluate and implement recruitment strategies to meet enrollment goals for the international territories.
  • Respond to individual student inquiries.
  • Verify the authenticity of academic credentials, evaluate academic profiles, and determine eligibility for admission from all countries within territory.
  • Serve as a Designated School Official (DSO): collect, qualify, and evaluate all documentation related to financial sponsorship; coordinate the accurate and timely preparation and issuance of I-20 forms; maintain SEVIS records.
  • Ensure that all data requests and reports to external agencies, partners, and the Student and Exchange Visitor program are accurate and completed in a timely manner.
  • Maintain student records database module(s) in the database modules for undergraduate, transfer, graduate and English as a Second Language applicant records and update all necessary information within the assigned territory.
  • Cross-train to assist and/or work with other areas of the international admissions when needed.
  • Coordinate and facilitate system-related functions for international admissions, including managing workflow processes, maintaining data integrity, visa audits, and other review processes related to database management.
  • Process online, paper, and common applications; create electronic files in accordance with university database procedures.
  • Navigate and manipulate data within the system; merge files, letters and emails.
  • Provide support for web-based international admissions functions, primarily the online applications and timely student correspondence throughout the enrollment process.
  • Create hard-copy files for all admitted students; prepare required documents for the Registrar's records.
  • Assist with Social Media initiatives.
  • Travel on behalf of the University for events as needed.
  • Perform other duties as requested.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience.
  • Excellent intercultural communication skills and a demonstrated understanding of the issues and challenges.
  • Proven, successful experience developing relationships with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team; with a wide range of constituencies, including staff, faculty and administrators.
  • Strong competencies in technology, especially Web-based applications for use in outreach and promotion.
  • Ability to work with information technology-based recruitment software package, Microsoft Office; strong email and web skills.
  • Commitment to value-based Catholic higher education.
  • An appreciation of, and openness, to diversity.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires stationary work in an office environment, walking short and long distances on campus and the ability to perform fine motor tasks, such as typing. It may require international travel
