This role provides clerical support that ensures the Philadelphia County Assistance Office operates smoothly and maintains accurate records. The work supports staff, clients, and daily office functions across multiple programs. As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties:
- Data Entry: Perform computer-based transactions such as case updates, file clearances, and application processing
- Record Processing: Gather, sort, update, and distribute case records to support staff workload
- Reception Support: Assist callers and visitors by answering questions, scheduling appointments, and directing requests
- Appeal Handling: Compile, track, and distribute appeal packets and schedules for staff and agencies
- Mail Management: Process incoming and outgoing mail and deliver items to the correct staff or units
- EBT Assistance: Create electronic benefits transfer cards and guide customers through PIN selection and use

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 1-hour lunch.
- Travel and overtime as needed.

- Work Conditions: Assigned duties are performed in a controlled office environment. In counties with District Offices, employees may be reassigned to different work sites due to operational needs. Reassignments will be made in compliance with contract language.

- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,831 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Graduation from high school; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
