This position supports building and equipment maintenance by assisting with repairs, upkeep, and seasonal tasks across district facilities. As a PennDOT Winter Maintenance Repairman 1, you will perform the following duties:
- Building Repairs: Assist with electrical, plumbing, roofing, and heating system maintenance
- Carpentry Tasks: Install fixtures, repair doors, build forms, and complete interior finish work
- Grounds Work: Maintain lawns, clear snow, prune trees, and handle outdoor upkeep
- Tool Operation: Use hand tools, power tools, and equipment to complete maintenance tasks
- Facility Support: Help with stockpile assessments, conference meetings, and fire drills
- General Duties: Clean work areas, follow schedules, pick up supplies, and support safe work practices
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Seasonal full-time employment from October 2026 to March 2027.
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Work hours are subject to change based upon seasonal requirements and operational needs.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience in general maintenance work which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.
Special Requirement:
- This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.
