UPMC is hiring a Team Lead, Revenue Cycle to support the Insurance Collections department.  This position would work Monday through Friday during business hours.  The position is located in Pittsburgh, PA at the Quantum One building in the Southside, with the opportunity for a hybrid schedule.

In this role you will provide support for the department's growing vendor management functions, including IMS vendor requests, vendor onboarding and access management, invoice auditing, workflow coordination, and process improvement initiatives. This role will also assist with tracking vendor performance, resolving operational issues, and ensuring timely completion of vendor-related activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Supervisor in maintaining workflow to ensure that departmental goals are met.
  • Assist employees with day-to-day questions, issues or problems.
  • Assist management staff with supervisory activities as directed, across all functional areas of Revenue Cycle.
  • Assume responsibilities of Supervisor in his/her absence.
  • Attend Annual compliance/HIPPA training as required. 
  • Collaborate with management staff to achieve improvements within the Revenue Cycle. Conduct departmental meetings as required.
  • Assist in the interview process.

  • Develop and maintain training materials and conduct training and mentoring sessions for new and existing staff.
  • Identify trends in payments, denials, charge capture, and cash posting that compromise the ability of the department to meet established goals.
  • Maintain current knowledge of all billing activities and collaborate with other department leads as necessary to facilitate departmental operations.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality related to employee and patient records.
  • Perform duties and responsibilities in a positive manner that upholds the management philosophy, policies and procedures.
  • Perform essential functions of business office as needed.
  • Perform in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • High School Diploma or /Equivalent and 4 years of experience in a healthcare setting with specific experience in business functions such as registration, charge entry, payment posting, and collections OR equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, third-party payer guidelines and reimbursement practices, and available financial resources for payment of balances due. 
  • Must demonstrate strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as a team member. 
  • Effective problem-solving skills required. Must be able to meet departmental goals on an ongoing basis. 
  • Experience with a Revenue Cycle is required. 
  • Current knowledge of ICD-10, CPT and HCPCS coding. Awareness of compliance and HIPAA guidelines as related to Revenue Cycle office functions. 
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
