This position performs advanced professional and supervisory work providing protective services to older adults. It serves as a lead worker for protective services and helps ensure all actions are performed in compliance with applicable statutes, regulations, policies, and procedures. As an Aging Care Manager 3, you will perform the following duties:


  • Complex Investigations: Conduct and oversee complex investigations into alleged abuse, neglect, exploitation, or abandonment
  • Needs Evaluation: Assess the medical, social, psychological, financial, and environmental needs of people in high-risk and complex circumstances
  • Advanced Case Management: Develop, implement, and monitor service plans to reduce or eliminate risk and assist older adults with accessing needed resources
  • Specialized Service Collaboration: Recommend and coordinate advanced protective services and referrals with internal and external organizations, care providers, and community organizations
  • Legal Actions: Recommend and coordinate court interventions and testify in legal proceedings
  • Staff Support: Perform supervisory duties, provide guidance, review casework for quality and compliance, participate in training, and assist with other levels of care management when needed

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
  • Employee is required to be on the on-call rotation.
  • Employee may have irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, or holidays.
  • Employee may have overnight travel or out of County travel for meetings and trainings.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as an Aging Care Manager 2 or Aging Program Assessor; or
  • One and one-half years of professional human services, law enforcement, or nursing experience; and a bachelor's degree in social sciences, behavioral sciences, human services, or a closely related field; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes six months of professional human services, law enforcement, or nursing experience.

Legal Requirements:

  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
