Join a high-impact Enterprise Hosting Services team supporting secure hybrid infrastructure for a critical financial institution. This Sr. Systems Engineer role offers the opportunity to work across on-premises virtualization, AWS GovCloud, Kubernetes, automation, and emerging AI capabilities in a fast-moving environment.
Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and support hybrid infrastructure across on-premises data centers and AWS GovCloud environments.
  • Administer and optimize VMware vSphere and ESXi platforms for enterprise workloads.
  • Manage Kubernetes operations across on-premises VMware-based platforms and AWS EKS.
  • Support application modernization efforts by migrating and tuning workloads across cloud and on-premises systems.
  • Implement and improve logging, monitoring, and observability across hybrid environments.
  • Contribute to security engineering efforts, including hardening, compliance automation, and vulnerability management.
  • Build infrastructure as code solutions and support CI/CD workflows using Terraform and GitLab.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams in an agile setting and use Jira to track work and delivery.
  • Help ensure systems align with NIST 800-53 and FISMA-related compliance requirements.
  • Automate operational processes and strengthen reliability across infrastructure platforms.
  • Support hybrid cloud strategy and contribute to architectural planning and technical decision-making.
Skills
  • 7+ years of experience supporting enterprise-grade ESXi and VMware server environments.
  • Strong background in planning, deploying, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining large VMware implementations.
  • Deep understanding of ESXi operations, VLANs, data center environments, and hybrid cloud architectures.
  • Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere administration and cluster management.
  • Experience with on-premises data center operations and AWS GovCloud.
  • Working knowledge of NIST 800-53 controls and FISMA compliance requirements.
  • Experience with audit logging, monitoring, and security-focused infrastructure practices.
  • Proficiency with Terraform and GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience collaborating in agile teams and working with Jira.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with Aria Automation, Aria Orchestrator, and Aria Operations.
  • PowerShell and PowerCLI scripting experience.
  • Kubernetes fleet management experience, including VKS, EKS, or Mirantis.
  • Exposure to application modernization and containerization initiatives.
  • Experience supporting AI/ML infrastructure or cloud-native AI capabilities.
  • Relevant VMware or Kubernetes certifications such as CKA or CKAD.
  • Background in financial services or federal government environments.
