The Academic Advising Center consists of six full-time academic advisors dedicated to providing wholistic academic advising to students at all levels and in all majors at Pitt-Greensburg. The Academic Advising Center works closely with the Registrar's Office which manages student records, class schedules, and academic policy compliance to support student success from enrollment through graduation.
Oversees day-to-day management of all academic support operations. Develops procedures for optimal operational efficiency and accuracy.
The Academic Advising Support Lead serves as the primary point of contact for students, faculty, and staff visiting or contacting the Academic Advising Center. This position provides advanced administrative support which includes:
- Maintaining and organizing student files in both physical and digital formats, including proficient use of Perceptive Content document management system;
- Managing placement and enrollment information and coordinating appointment scheduling for incoming students;
- Scheduling and managing appointments in Outlook and Pathways on behalf of six academic advisors;
- Supervising and providing guidance to student workers;
- Processing academic advisor assignments and changes for all Pitt Greensburg students in consultation with the Academic Advising Center Director;
- Tracking and processing student relocation and transfer requests in a timely and accurate manner;
- Processing program, plan changes, and reinstatements in PeopleSoft;
- Serving as the primary point of contact for in-person and phone inquiries, providing professional and informed support to students, families, prospective students, faculty, and staff;
- Supporting the Academic Advising Center Director with special projects, including mailings, campus outreach efforts, and programming related to Veteran and military-connected student services.
Accuracy of records is imperative; attention to detail is essential; confidentiality of all work is critical.
The position is primarily sedentary, however, some walking on campus to attend meetings and/or events is required.
Some lifting under 25 lbs. may be necessary.
