Position Overview
Seeking a Senior ServiceNow Discovery Developer to implement, configure, support, and optimize ServiceNow Discovery within a cloud-focused enterprise environment.
This role focuses on improving infrastructure visibility, maintaining CMDB accuracy, and ensuring reliable discovery of on-premises and cloud resources across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
Key Responsibilities
Implement, configure, and support ServiceNow Discovery.
Configure and troubleshoot MID Servers, Discovery Patterns, Sensors, and Probes.
Support Identification and Reconciliation Engine (IRE), CMDB relationships, and CMDB health.
Discover and manage on-premises and cloud infrastructure assets.
Support AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform resource discovery.
Troubleshoot credential failures, network paths, firewalls, and incomplete discovery scans.
Identify and resolve Discovery performance and configuration issues.
Improve CMDB accuracy and infrastructure visibility.
Use Python for automation, troubleshooting, and tooling support.
Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, and platform teams to resolve discovery gaps.
Use AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, ServiceNow AI, or GenAI coding assistants.
Must-Have Skills
5+ years of relevant experience.
Strong hands-on ServiceNow Discovery experience.
Deep understanding of:
MID Servers
Discovery Patterns
Sensors
Probes
Strong experience with Identification and Reconciliation Engine (IRE).
Strong knowledge of CMDB relationships and CMDB health management.
Experience discovering cloud resources across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure and networking concepts.
Experience with credentials, firewalls, network connectivity, and infrastructure integrations.
Working knowledge of Python scripting.
Strong Discovery troubleshooting experience, including:
Credential failures
Performance issues
Incomplete scans
Inaccurate discovery results
Familiarity with AWS services and AWS-heavy enterprise environments.
Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, ServiceNow AI tools, or GenAI coding assistants.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
ServiceNow Discovery Certification is required.

Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
The real hiring focus is ServiceNow Discovery + MID Servers + Discovery Patterns + IRE + CMDB Health + cloud discovery (especially AWS) + required ServiceNow Discovery Certification.
