Residential Program Trainee (Part-Time) (Local Government)

We are looking for a motivated and dependable person to help individuals with behavioral health issues achieve what is necessary to live independently and be part of the community. The part-time Residential Program Trainee at CMSU MH/ID Unit offers a chance to make a real impact every day. This role gives you the opportunity to assist in developing and implementing individual service plans, counsel clients to effectively process daily stressors, responsibilities, and personal values. This role focuses on supporting program clients as they learn important daily living skills and participate in supervised activities. As a Part-time Residential Program Trainee, you will perform the following duties:

  • Skill Development: Assist clients as they learn cooking, nutrition, hygiene, medication management, money management, and housekeeping
  • Service Planning: Help create and carry out individual service plans that support client learning goals
  • Activity Support: Participate in recreational and social activities under close supervision, providing transportation as required
  • Resource Instruction: Teach clients about the availability and use of community resources and facilities
  • Social Growth: Support clients as they build stronger social skills

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Part-time employment at a 24-hour -7 Day/week Residential Facility for individuals with Behavioral Health and co-occurring disorders.
  • Work hours will vary.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • No previous experience and training required.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements: 

  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
