The Clerical Assistant 2 position at the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Camp Hill offers a steady and purposeful role that supports medical department operations. This role supports the medical department by managing tracking systems, organizing records, and assisting with important administrative tasks that maintain smooth operations. As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties:
- Credential Tracking: Monitor licensing, insurance, and certification information for medical staff and vendors
- Record Management: Organize department files, injury reports, fit testing records, and scheduling documentation
- Meeting Support: Take, type, and distribute minutes for departmental meetings
- Clearance Coordination: Manage gate clearances, including six-month vendor submissions and updates
- Data Updating: Track outcome measures, enter Compass information, and maintain employee contact records
- Administrative Assistance: Reserve rooms, support clerical workflow, and complete assigned tasks for the medical department

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM or 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,831 (before taxes).

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Graduation from high school; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirements (NSRs):
- Must possess keyboarding skills to meet standards for speed and accuracy.
Additional Requirements:
- Must understand how to efficiently use and navigate a personal computer.
- Ability to work with various office equipment such as: scanner, printer, fax machine, computer, tablet, telephone, personal communication devices etc.
- Previous experience with electronic communication tools/skills, such as video conferencing, and creating meetings in Microsoft Teams or Zoom
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Able to stand and operate document scanning machines
