This role focuses on performing skilled maintenance and repair work across multiple trades to support safe and efficient operations at the hospital.  It involves repairing plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, equipment, and building interiors while following safety standards.  As a Maintenance Repairman 2, you will perform the following duties:


  • Plumbing Repairs: Repair pipes, fixtures, valves, traps, drains, pumps, and heating equipment
  • Electrical Work: Inspect, repair, and maintain lighting, wiring, motors, and other electrical systems
  • Carpentry Tasks: Remodel walls, ceilings, and floors and build items such as scaffolding, cabinets, and shelving
  • Painting Duties: Prepare surfaces, mix paint, and apply finishes to interior and exterior areas
  • Equipment Use: Operate hand and power tools safely while completing repairs and maintenance
  • Safety Compliance: Follow safety procedures, maintain clean work areas, and participate in asbestos abatement as required

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours/week
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Overtime and travel will be required as needed.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.

Special Requirement:

  • This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.
