As Event and Traffic Safety Staff with the Department of Agriculture, PA Farm Show Complex and Expo Center, you will help keep one of Pennsylvania's most active public venues running smoothly. This role supports the safe movement of people and vehicles while helping maintain a secure and organized environment throughout the PA Farm Show Complex and Expo Center. As an Event and Traffic Safety Staff, you will perform the following duties:
- Patrol Activities: Perform patrols of assigned areas, including buildings, parking lots, and grounds to support a safe environment
- Traffic Flow: Manage vehicle movement and parking patterns to maintain orderly access during events
- Customer Service: Provide clear communication and helpful support to visitors, clients, and event participants
- Emergency Response: Respond quickly to alarms and emergencies and communicate accurate information to responders
- Communication Logs: Record daily activities and note incidents or concerns needing follow up
- Security Equipment: Use and distribute required security equipment as directed for each shift

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- FREE on-site parking
- Temporary full-time employment, without benefits
- Work hours are 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM, Friday - Tuesday, July - March
- This position is considered essential and as such is required to report to working during emergencies and office closings.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

QUALIFICATIONS
Special Requirement:
- This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle operator's license.
Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Experience working in crowds.
- Experience working at large-scale public events.
- Experience working in security or traffic management.
Legal Requirements:
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
