This role helps you develop the abilities needed to care for residents through classroom learning and hands-on experience. The position provides training that builds strong skills and prepares you for future certification as a Nurse Aide within 12months of hire. As a Aide Trainee, you will perform the following duties:

  • Training Participation: Complete classroom lessons and on-the-job activities to build direct care knowledge
  • Resident Assistance: Support residents with basic needs, room cleanliness, and safe movement around the facility
  • Care Techniques: Follow infection control steps, handle meal distribution tasks, and enter accurate documentation
  • Safety Awareness: Watch for hazards, report concerns, and help maintain safe conditions indoors and outdoors
  • Equipment Care: Clean medical devices and keep care supplies stocked and organized
  • Unit Support: Transport residents, assist with activities, and help move supplies for nursing staff

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
  • Work hours are 1st shift (6:00 AM to 2:30 PM) and 2nd shift (2:00 PM to 10:30 PM), with a 30-minute lunch. You will work rotating days, weekends, and holidays.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Additional Requirements:

  • You must possess a high school diploma or GED.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements: 

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination. 
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
