UPMC Presbyterian is seeking a Casual Radiologic Technologist to join our team!

What You'll Do:
- Perform diagnostic radiography procedures using established protocols with minimal supervision.
- Safely utilize advanced imaging equipment to acquire and document high-quality diagnostic images.
- Verify patient identity using two patient identifiers and follow universal protocol standards.
- Review patient histories, assess physician orders, and document information accurately in the electronic medical record.
- Administer oral and rectal contrast in accordance with physician orders and department policies.
- Ensure exams are properly coded, tracked through RIS, archived in ISITE, and accurately charged.
- Use independent judgment to adjust imaging protocols and appropriately apply ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients to explain procedures, ease concerns, and ensure cooperation.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and fellow team members to provide exceptional patient care.

- Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or verification from ARRT approved school of completion of program and scheduled graduation date. Technologists hired before graduation will have indirect supervision by an ARRT certified diagnostic technologist until the degree is verified.
- Technologist cannot work in an outpatient setting until ARRT has been obtained.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
- ARRT Registry eligible as a Radiologic Technologist.
- Must obtain radiography registry within 6 months of hire date as of January 1, 2025.
- Diagnostic Technologists hired prior to January 1, 2025, will need to obtain their registry within 12 months of hire/transfer date.
- CPR or BLS Required. CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
- Technologist cannot work in an outpatient setting until ARRT has been obtained.
- If working in a NY facility, you must have received certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) and be Licensed through the New York State Department of Health.
- If practicing under a temporary permit: must be under direct supervision of licensed radiologic technologist, must obtain ARRT certification within 180 days of permit issue date. Temporary permits expire 180 days from date of issuance, or upon notice that license application denied, or ten days after notification of failure of licensing exam, whichever occurs first.
