Embedded Software Engineer 3 – Remote Control Systems
Location: Pittsburgh, PA
Employment Type: W2
Pay Rate: $50/hour on W2
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 5–7 years of experience in Systems Engineering, Embedded Software Development, Systems Integration, and/or Verification & Validation.
- Strong understanding of:
- Requirements Engineering
- System Architecture
- Electrical Schematics
- System Integration
- Verification & Validation (V&V)
- Hands-on proficiency with:
- Embedded C/C++
- MATLAB/Simulink
- Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS)
- CAN
- Ethernet
- Embedded Control Systems
- Experience with CANoe/CANalyzer and Wireshark.
- Experience with Git and modern software development and testing tools.
- Experience with AI-assisted engineering tools, including GitHub Copilot or Microsoft Copilot.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Top candidates will also have experience with:
- Autonomy, Robotics, Remote Control, or Machine Control Systems
- AUTOSAR
- Functional Safety
- Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
- Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) testing
- IBM DOORS or Jama
- Automated software and system test frameworks
