This senior role gives you the chance to improve important services that many people in Pennsylvania use every day. In this job, you will be guiding major design decisions, supporting the growth of the design system, and working closely with product, engineering, and agency teams. As a Senior User Experience Designer, you will perform the following duties:
- Design Strategy: Define project design approaches that support multi-system services and user needs
- Service Design: Lead interaction flows, user journeys, prototypes, and cross channel service improvements
- Testing Leadership: Develop testing plans and evaluation studies that guide product decisions
- System Governance: Manage design system standards, documentation, and accessibility guidance
- Team Mentoring: Support designers through feedback, coaching, and shared design practices
- Cross Team Coordination: Build strong working relationships across teams and agencies to advance user centered design practices

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Ten years of professional information technology experience; or
- Six years of professional information technology experience and a bachelor’s degree; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
- You must have five or more years of experience documenting design rationale, such as explaining key decisions, tradeoffs, or design assumptions.
- You must have five or more years of experience creating end-to-end interaction design work with multi-step workflows or user journeys.
- You must have three or more years of experience using Figma to produce interaction designs, prototypes, or user flows.
- You must have three or more years of experience creating or managing design assets in Figma, such as components, variants, or tokens.
- You must have one or more years of experience contributing to or maintaining an enterprise design system.
- You must be willing and able to travel as needed to support team, project, or stakeholder engagement.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Experience designing for large, complex ecosystems such as government, healthcare, education, or enterprise environments
- Experience in service design, systems design, or multi-channel experience design
- Experience working within agile or hybrid delivery environments, including backlog refinement and release planning
