As a UCC Elevator Inspector Trainee, you will be supporting the safe operation of elevators and other lifting devices by learning inspection methods and applying safety standards. In this role, you will perform the following duties:
- Inspection Support: Assist in checking elevators and lifting devices to confirm proper design, safe load capacity, and working safety features
- Equipment Review: Observe and examine machinery, controls, hoistways, wiring, hydraulics, and safety devices to verify compliance with standards
- New Installations: Help inspect new equipment or major repairs to ensure alignment with approved plans
- Safety Determination: Assess conditions to help determine whether unsafe equipment may continue operating or must be taken out of service
- Incident Assistance: Support investigations of elevator accidents and unresolved issues identified by authorized inspectors
- Report Preparation: Prepare draft inspection and investigation reports for review by senior inspectors

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Home Headquartered: This position is home headquartered. In order to be home headquartered, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience in the construction, inspection, installation, maintenance, repair, or design of elevators, passenger ropeways, or other lifting devices, electronic equipment, electrical systems, heavy machinery, motors, engines, drives or hydraulic systems.
Conditions of Employment:
- This position requires possession of a valid driver’s license.
Post Employment Requirements:
- This position requires a valid certification issued by the Department of Labor and Industry, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, as an Elevator Inspector within the probationary period.
- This position requires a valid certification issued by the Department of Labor and Industry, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, as a Passenger Ropeway Inspector within the probationary period.
Other Requirements:
- The selected candidate must live in or be willing to relocate to Westmoreland County by date of hire. Expenses will not be paid.
