GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Assists manager in day-to-day activities of the child care center in regards to activities, scheduling, budget, and billing. Performs the duties of the Manager in her absence. Responsibility for the completion of the time cards for associates on a biweekly basis, as well as scheduling associates for work with the guidance of the manager.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

  • Develops a curriculum of appropriate activities for each age group which includes: games, stories, art activities, weekly lessons based on a theme, cooking, songs and fingerplays with the assistance of the lead classroom teacher and guidance of the manager. 

  • Scheduling of staff members as needed in regards to child-staff ratios set forth by the Office of Child Development.

  • Log payroll hours into the iSnap payroll system on a daily basis. 

  • Report FTE overages and reasons on a weekly basis to the manager. 

  • Assists in interviewing potential job applicants with the manager and interviewing committee. 

  • Complete the number of mandated hours of professional development on a yearly basis as set forth by the Pennsylvania Keystone Stars Quality Initiative Program. Attend monthly meetings with the Parent Advisory Board and other meetings as needed by the center and Saint Vincent Health System. 

  • Assist manager in writing of grants as needed through Pennsylvania Keystone Stars Quality Initiative. 

  • Assess each classroom environment using the Environmental Rating Scales to determine opportunities for improvement. 

  • Develop cooperative relationships with parents, children and coworkers.

  • Communicate with parents, staff, manager and members of Saint Vincent Health System effectively. 

  • Review and evaluate facility activities on a routine basis to ensure compliance with local and state regulations.

  • Perform classroom duties as needed in the absence of a regular classroom teacher.

  • Supervise all staff members of the child care center and report needed information to the manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant experience and/or education as determined by the company in lieu of bachelor's degree.

  • National Sex Offender Registry

Additional Employment Requirements:

  • CPR – American Heart Association

  • Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate

  • Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
