This position focuses on cleaning and maintaining buildings and surrounding areas at Fort Indiantown Gap to support secure and orderly conditions. As a Custodial Worker 1, you will perform the following duties:

  • Facility Cleaning: Clean offices, lobbies, hallways, restrooms, windows, and other interior spaces
  • Floor Care: Mop, buff, sweep, and remove or apply wax using various custodial tools and equipment
  • Trash Handling: Empty wastebaskets, dispose of garbage, separate recyclable materials, and follow safe handling guidelines
  • Surface Care: Dust and wipe furniture, fixtures, cabinets, and equipment throughout assigned areas
  • Outdoor Tasks: Shovel snow, sweep walkways, and maintain building entrances as directed
  • Equipment Use: Move furniture, deliver supplies, and mix cleaning chemicals according to label and safety data sheet instructions

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment (7.5 hours per day; 37.5 hours per week)
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. 
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Additional Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform repetitive motions: reach, bend, lift, stoop, kneel, walk, climb stairs, and stand on hard surfaces.
  • You must possess a valid federal or state-issued photo ID and pass a favorable National Crime Information Center (NCIC) screening for admittance to Fort Indiantown Gap.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
