This role focuses on completing repair and maintenance tasks that support safe, functional, and well-kept facilities at Fort Indiantown Gap. The position involves work in carpentry, plumbing, electrical repair, painting, grounds care, and equipment upkeep. As a Maintenance Repairman 2, you will perform the following duties:
- Carpentry Tasks: Install ceilings, flooring, shelving, and structural materials for facility upkeep
- Plumbing Work: Repair toilets, faucets, drains, and piping to maintain proper water systems
- Electrical Repair: Replace switches, receptacles, ballasts, and lighting components as needed
- Painting Duties: Prepare surfaces and apply interior and exterior paint to maintain building appearance
- Grounds Maintenance: Cut grass, shovel snow, trim shrubs, and clear debris to keep outdoor areas safe
- Equipment Care: Clean, adjust, and maintain tools and machinery to ensure they remain in good working condition

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.
Special Requirement:
You must be in possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.
- You must maintain favorable National Crime Information Center (NCIC) screening for admittance to Fort Indiantown Gap.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Formal training in a skilled building, electrical, or mechanical trade
- Experience in commercial carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC trades
- Experience in commercial and structural maintenance of buildings and equipment
- Experience with 3-phase wiring including emergency generators, Automatic Transfer Switches, switch gears, and 3-phase panels
- Experience with domestic hot water mixing valves, recirculating loops, aqua stats, and instantaneous water heaters
- Experience with the provisions of Life Safety Codes and Uniform Construction Code (UCC) as it relates to repair of buildings
- Structural experience in the maintenance or repair of buildings
- Experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades (Examples of qualifying trades include carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, masonry, steamfitting and pipefitting, refrigeration and HVAC, painting, roofing and tinsmith, drywall and plasterer, and automotive mechanic work that includes performing technical duties on motors, engines, and electrical systems.)
