The Division of Laboratory Animal Resources (DLAR) Research Data Coordinator II will serve as an archivist, for a Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) compliant test facility. The candidate will:

• Receive, index, store, retrieve, and disposition archived study records in accordance with procedures,
• Ensure data integrity throughout the data lifecycle, supporting an audit ready records program, 
• Utilize quality management software (Ideagen IQM®),other electronic systems, and paper filing systems, to maintain records,
• Coordinate the collection, review, retrieval, and maintenance of study documentation from investigators, study personnel, quality assurance staff, and other stakeholders as required by study plans and regulatory standards, and 
• Prepare, organize, format, and maintain research datasets in accordance with established procedures and industry standards.

Working knowledge of GLP principles, experience working in a preclinical laboratory environment, and/or experience with audit readiness projects preferred. Candidates with data management, quality assurance, compliance, veterinary technical, and/or research laboratory experience are encouraged to apply. The selected candidate will participate in a structured and ongoing training to develop the skills necessary to independently perform related responsibilities. The successful candidate must demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, the ability to learn specialized software systems, and aptitude to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and compliance. Must pass the mandatory criminal and social background checks, and successfully enroll in medical surveillance programs, as dictated by the current research activities.

Vaccinations and/or TB testing may be required.

Inputs, updates, and maintains accurate research data in electronic databases, systems, and in archives. Compiles information, reviews data, and corrects incompatibilities. Maintains files, prepares reports, and complies with all policies and procedures.

• Read, understand, and follow DLAR, institutional, and regulatory guidance documents (SOPs, policies), 
• Know and adhere to GLP requirements, 
• Coordinate and maintain data in accordance with governing principles (ALCOA+), including data accuracy, consistency, traceability, and integrity,
• Prepare accurate data reports following prescribed formats, 
• Utilize electronic systems (e.g., IQM, Excel, databases) and maintain highly organized paper files, as dictated by study requirements,
• Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, in English, with internal and external stakeholders,
• Follow written and verbal instructions,
• Work directly with animals, bedding, biological and/or chemical agents,
• Wear facility specific personal protective equipment (PPE) required by the job duties based on risk assessment from EH&S,
• Successfully enroll in the University of Pittsburgh Animal Exposure Surveillance Program (AESP) and other medical surveillance/immunization programs as dictated by current research activities, and
• Receive vaccinations and health assessments, including TB testing, as dictated by DLAR and/or EH&S policies and practices.

The employee must be able to:
• Stand and sit for extended periods of time throughout the workday,
• Perform repetitive motion tasks that involve pushing, pulling, reaching, and/or bending, 
• Negotiate and navigate around animals and equipment.
