The Pennsylvania State Police is seeking a Clerical Assistant 2 who enjoys keeping work processes running smoothly. This role gives you the opportunity to assist station personnel while managing important records and documents. You will help maintain accuracy and support daily administrative needs for the agency. As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties:
- Document Preparation: Prepare and type correspondence and reports; transcribe recorded interviews and communications
- Quality Review: Proofread documents for accuracy and compliance with regulations
- Data Management: Obtain, enter, and compare report data within required systems including the Initial Crime Index and Record Management System
- File Maintenance: Maintain, update, and purge files and reference materials using established methods
- Scheduling Support: Input schedules, update changes, arrange court hearings, and create duty rosters
- Supply and Payment Processing: Order supplies, manage P-Card payments, and reconcile accounts

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
- Work hours are 8:15 AM to 4:15 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,831 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Graduation from high school; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
- Three years of experience using Microsoft Word.
- Three years of experience proofreading and editing various types of materials to ensure grammatical correctness and completeness.
- Two years or more of experience using Microsoft Excel.
- One year of experience working in a position that required processing invoices, payments, and managing financial accounts.
- One year of experience utilizing various office equipment such as a personal computer, copying machine, facsimile machine, and postage meter.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
