The Social Media Manager will report to the Director of Strategic Communications & Media in the School of Computing and Information (SCI) and is a member of the SCI communications and marketing team.  Position provides direction to student interns for day-to-day tasks and project assignment.  Provides moderately complex content and marketing development for web and print media including, but not limited to writing, editing, research, web graphics and templates, social media, signs and banners, digital signage, emails, reports, and other print and communications collateral.  Serves as a strong contributor for SCI communications team in content creation and initiatives that elevate SCI's visibility, strengthen its market position, and establish the school as a leader in interdisciplinary, workforce-focused, and future-oriented education while ensuring design and brand consistency 

Coordinates and leads digital and social media presence by managing University channels, developing and editing channel content, and managing social media calendars. Maintains University social media guidelines and branding and ensures strategic alignment with University objectives. Monitors social media engagement and utilizes digital marketing metrics. Identifies and pursues social media growth opportunities.

Must be able to communicate effectively, both in print and electronically; ability to use and/or be trained on various software packages including Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Drupal and Emma. Must be familiar with a variety of social media platforms including Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram.Must be able to communicate effectively, both in print and electronically; ability to use and/or be trained on various software packages including Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Drupal and Emma. This position is mainly sedentary. Incumbent will need to lift boxes containing brochures and publications; on-site visits to meet with constituencies when working on a story; due to deadline constraints, the potential for extended periods of typing on the computer keyboard exists.
