Position Overview

The League of Women Voters of Pennsylvania ("LWVPA" or "the League") is a nonpartisan, grassroots nonprofit that has worked to empower voters and defend democracy across the Commonwealth for over 100 years.

LWVPA seeks a part-time Digital Communications Organizer to amplify League stories and wins, boost our profile and brand awareness, and engage the public to vote, volunteer, join, and get involved in civic life.  The main focus will be to work with the LWVPA team on messaging and to strategize, create, and distribute digital communications, media, public-facing messaging, and informational materials about statewide programs and Local Leagues.

The position will engage regularly with staff and League members to generate content, including social media posts, reels and short-form video, website and email content, rapid response messaging, and more as needed.

Key Responsibilities (included but not limited to):

Content Calendar and Strategy

Develop and maintain a rolling weekly digital content calendar, with a minimum 7-day lead time on all proposed posts, themes, and ideas
Present weekly content themes and concepts to staff for review and input before scheduling
Coordinate the calendar with LWVPA program priorities, advocacy moments, and the November 2026 election cycle
Propose monthly strategies for increasing social media post engagement (likes, shares, click-throughs) and reaching new audiences

Social Media Content Creation and Posting

Publish a minimum of 2 social media posts per week; target of 3 posts per week
Coach and facilitate at least one authentic, unscripted short-form video per week — featuring LWVPA staff, Board members, or League members
Produce 1–2 digital assets per week (graphics, quote cards, carousels, or short-form video), and assist with paid boosting as directed
Lift up and amplify stories, wins, and activities from LWVPA and Local Leagues
Support event promotion across LWVPA digital platforms
Contribute to rapid-response digital communications as needed, in consultation with staff

Local League and Partner Engagement

Engage regularly with Local League and nonpartisan partner social media — liking, commenting, and re-sharing relevant content
Build, maintain, monitor, and engage with a list of priority Local League and partner accounts
Amplify Local League events, wins, and voter education efforts through LWVPA's channels
Analytics and Reporting

Provide a brief weekly status update to the Executive Director on content calendar progress and any emerging issues
Conduct a monthly analytics review of social media performance, including engagement rate, follower growth, and video performance
Present data-informed recommendations for strategy adjustments on a monthly basis

Additional responsibilities, as capacity allows:

Format and design toolkits and other assets for Local League distribution
Draft and support distribution of the monthly e-newsletter
Support website updates and maintenance as needed
Assist in building digital communications capacity of Local Leagues, including guidance on social media best practices
Support development of talking points, press releases, and rapid-response messaging related to election and civic engagement issues

Excellent storytelling skills, including writing, editing, and graphic design
Experience creating engaging digital and social media content, including reels and short-form video.
Experience with website, email marketing, and digital communications platforms.
Experience with Canva or similar design tools.
Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
A minimum of three (3) years of experience in communications, digital media, public relations, marketing, or a related field, preferred
