This role offers a meaningful way to make a difference for patients and families by enhancing their hospital experience from arrival to discharge.

As a PFC, you'll support patients, families, and clinical staff by performing a mix of bedside, stocking, and administrative tasks. You’ll assist with everything from guiding visitors and delivering meals to transporting patients and managing supplies—ensuring smooth, compassionate care every step of the way.

This full-time, 36 hour per week, role requires rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays. Starting pay is $18.00/hour, with final title and rate based on experience and education.

About the Unit:

5G is a 22-bed unit specializing in the care of patients with complex brain and spinal cord trauma, stroke, and various neurosurgical conditions. Our team focuses on supporting the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of both patients and their families. We prioritize building strong relationships and promoting advocacy within the interdisciplinary care team to ensure the best possible outcomes for those we serve. 5G offers a fast-paced environment where team members can gain valuable knowledge and experience while working with a diverse and complex patient population. Our staff collaborates with world-renowned trauma and neurosurgeons, as well as a wide range of skilled neurologists and internists, to provide optimal care for our patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and escort patients and visitors.
  • Assist with patient transport, meal delivery, and supply replenishment.
  • Maintain clean, organized spaces and report maintenance needs.
  • Answer phones, respond to call lights, and provide non-clinical assistance.

Note: This role does NOT involve clinical tasks such as bathing, mobility assistance, or administering medical care.

  • High school diploma, or active enrollment in a high school/GED program, or one year of previous work experience in lieu of a diploma/GED
  • Must demonstrate compassion, enthusiasm, and a strong desire to provide an exceptional experience for patients and families at all times
  • Previous experience in healthcare or customer service is preferred, but not required
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
