As a Clerical Assistant 2 with the Pennsylvania State Police, you will support essential office processes that help the Bureau run effectively. This position offers a structured work environment where accuracy and teamwork matter. You will handle important tasks that keep personnel records and business activities up to date. Your attention to detail will support the mission of public safety.


This role focuses on maintaining accurate personnel records, supporting purchasing activities, and completing essential administrative tasks for the Criminal Records and Identification Division. You will help keep workflows organized and ensure that daily operations run smoothly. 

As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties:

  • Timekeeping Duties: Maintain leave records, codes time and attendance records, monitor sick leave usage, and process payroll-related updates
  • Supply Management: Order, track, and reconcile supply purchases and coordinate requisitions with staff and procurement units
  • Personnel Processing: Prepare and process Personnel Action Requests for various staffing changes
  • Reception Services: Answer telephone calls and direct callers to the correct areas within the Bureau and Department
  • Mail Handling: Open, sort, distribute incoming mail and assist with preparing outgoing materials
  • File Maintenance: Organize and maintain Criminal Records and Identification Division personnel and subject files according to Department regulations

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Work hours are 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday-Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. 
  • Salary:   Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,831 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS 
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:

  • Two (2) years of customer service experience
  • Two (2) years of professional computer experience
  • You must be willing to work onsite full-time. Teleworking is not an option as part of this position's work schedule.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
