This position supports the cleanliness and upkeep of the PSP Academy buildings and surrounding grounds to ensure a safe and healthy environment. As a Custodial Worker 1, you will perform the following duties:

  • General Cleaning: Clean offices, classrooms, dormitory areas, hallways, and stairways, including mopping, dusting, emptying trash, and ensuring lighting is operational
  • Restroom Care: Clean restrooms, locker rooms, and shower areas and restock bathroom supplies
  • Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain cleaning machinery and equipment
  • Area Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness in additional assigned spaces throughout the grounds
  • Emergency Support: Assist with duties during catastrophic incidents and report to designated locations when directed

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00, with a 30-minute lunch. You will be assigned to work the first weekend of cadet class arrivals.
  • Irregular Schedule: You may work a flex schedule that is not core hours. Your schedule may change based on operational needs.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,010.00 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS
Additional Requirements:
  • You must possess a valid driver’s license which is not under suspension.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:
  • You must pass criminal history and background investigations if you do not have a current Pennsylvania State Police background on file.
  • You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
