This position supports the Dietetic Services Department by preparing menu items, coordinating food production tasks, and maintaining quality standards throughout the kitchen. As a Cook 2, you will perform the following duties:
- Lead Coordination: Assign and review cooking tasks and share preparation methods with Cook 1s and Food Service Workers
- Food Preparation: Prepare menu items according to standardized recipes and adjust quantities based on production needs
- Quality Control: Evaluate food presentation and acceptance and ensure proper labeling, dating, and portion control
- Safety Practices: Follow food handling procedures, complete cooling charts, and operate kitchen equipment properly
- Recipe Management: Develop and revise standardized recipes to comply with therapeutic diets and maintain organized recipe files
- Operational Support: Assist with stock rotation, dining room setup, and supervisory responsibilities when needed

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
- Work hours are 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM, with a 30-minute lunch. You will work rotating days and weekends.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

QUALIFICATIONS
Desirable Preparation for Work:
- Experience as a cook in a large volume food preparation operation; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training.
Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
