Role Summary

The OneStream Technologist will serve as Wabtec’s internal OneStream solution architect, trusted Finance technology advisor and platform subject matter expert. The role will partner closely with Finance leadership, process owners, and IT teams to translate business requirements into scalable solution designs, technical specifications, delivery plans and technology roadmaps. The individual will evaluate new capabilities, lead architecture and solution planning and help expand OneStream beyond consolidation into broader planning, reporting, automation and finance transformation use cases.   Success in this role requires a strong combination of Finance process knowledge, business partnership, solution architecture expertise and project delivery leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as OneStream product SME: Provide best-practice guidance, evaluate new OneStream features and releases, advise stakeholders on platform capabilities versus limitations, and mentor internal team members on OneStream functionality.
  • Lead requirements definition and solution planning: Translate requirements into solution designs, technical specifications, implementation approaches, testing strategies, and deployment plans. Evaluate alternatives, communicate tradeoffs and recommend optimal solutions that align with platform capabilities and business priorities. Serve as a trusted advisor to stakeholders by challenging assumptions and ensuring requirements are clearly defined before development begins.
  • Lead solution architecture for new requests: Assess feasibility of new requirements, design technical solutions, create solution design documentation, define integration architecture, and conduct architecture reviews with Finance, IT, and process stakeholders.
  • Support application roadmap and release planning: Partner with the Functional Product Owner and Technical App Owner to create a multi-year capability roadmap, document quarterly release plans, evaluate new modules and add-ons, and align OneStream enhancements to Finance transformation priorities.
  • Own solution delivery planning: Develop delivery plans for approved initiatives, including scope, milestones, dependencies, resource requirements, testing cycles, deployment activities. Identify risks, assumptions, constraints and mitigation strategies to support successful execution.
  • Drive complex development and configuration: Design complex/custom reports, develop advanced calculations and business rules, build XF MarketPlace solutions, create custom dashboards, configure new modules or solutions, and support automation opportunities.
  • Enable integration strategy: Design source system integrations, provide architecture direction for connectors and transformation logic, and partner with developers and technical owners to test, validate, and stabilize integrations.
  • Support new functionality and M&A integration needs: Lead solutioning for new functionality, configurations, and acquisition integration requirements, ensuring scalable design, appropriate controls, and fit-for-purpose execution.
  • Provide governance and control support: Own or support technical input for access role design, quarterly access recertification, access anomaly investigation, audit data extracts, compliance reporting, SOX control testing, and documentation of audit evidence.
  • Partner cross-functionally and serve as a trusted advisor: Work closely with Finance process owners, the Technical App Owner, developers, administrators, external support partners, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into sustainable OneStream solutions. Build trusted relationships with stakeholders and advise on solution options, prioritization decisions, process improvements and platform strategy.
  • Own project resourcing planning: Develop and maintain resourcing plans for OneStream projects and enhancements, aligning required skills, capacity, timing, and support needs across Finance, IT, developers, administrators, process owners, and external partners as appropriate.
