This role supports daily clerical needs that ensure the station runs efficiently and stays organized.

As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties:

  • Clerical Support: Provide essential administrative assistance to the Station Commander and staff
  • Document Preparation: Prepare and type correspondence and reports for station use
  • Audio Transcription: Transcribe interviews and communications from recorded audio
  • Meeting Assistance: Attend meetings, prepare notes, and share information with station personnel
  • Report Review: Review reports for accuracy and forward them to troop headquarters
  • Data Entry: Enter information from various reports into the Initial Crime Index computer system

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Work hours are 7:00am to 3:00pm, Monday-Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,831 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Graduation from high school: or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:
  • Must have three (3) years or more of experience with Microsoft Word.
  • Must have three (3) years of experience proofreading and editing various types of materials to ensure grammatical correctness and completeness.
  • Must have two (2) years of experience using Microsoft Excel.
  • Must have one (1) year of experience working in a position that required processing invoices, payments, and managing financial accounts.
  • Must have one (1) year of experience utilizing various office equipment such as a personal computer, copying machine, facsimile machine, and postage meter.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
