Are you looking for a challenging position that allows you to perform a public service? The Bureau of Payable Services is looking for an Accounting Assistant to support accurate and efficient payments across the Commonwealth. You will apply accounting principles to process invoices for the LCB Oracle Unit to support PLCB Operations. This is an excellent chance to build professional skills while supporting important statewide operations.

This position focuses on reviewing invoices, verifying financial details, and supporting payment processes for vendors and grantees. It plays an important role in ensuring that expenditures meet required rules and standards. As an Invoice Processor 1, you will perform the following duties:

  • Invoice Review: Examine vendor and grantee invoices to ensure they meet legal and administrative requirements
  • System Verification: Compare scanned invoice data with purchase orders or agreements to confirm accuracy
  • Payment Processing: Review financial details and release payments when required information is confirmed
  • Issue Resolution: Identify problems such as duplicates or incomplete invoices and take appropriate corrective action
  • Data Entry: Enter invoice information into financial systems and ensure all indexing fields are complete

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. AWS (alternate work schedule) may be available upon successful completion of the probationary period.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time, with occasional in-office days when work dictates such requirements. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.   • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $41,506.00 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of experience performing bookkeeping or clerical accounting work; or
  • An Associate Degree in accounting or business administration including or supplemented by six credits of accounting.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must have one or more years of experience with SAP, Accounts Payable, and Oracle software.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
