The role helps clients receive clear information and organized service throughout the application process. As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties:
- Telephone Support: Answer telephone inquiries and provide clients with helpful information
- Information Handling: Receive, log, review, process, and transfer written or verbal information
- Record Management: Collect, sort, retrieve, and purge records and other materials
- Data Entry: Interpret documents and complete accurate data entry in required systems
- Customer Assistance: Offer bilingual support to Spanish-speaking clients by greeting, interpreting, and directing them to needed services
- Office Operations: Operate office equipment and prepare reports and general correspondence

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time, seasonal employment, 37.5 hours per week.
- This is a full time, seasonal position that typically runs for 6-8 months during the fall and winter seasons to assist clients in the process of applying for heating assistance.
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with a 1-hour lunch.
- Travel and overtime as needed.
- Work Conditions: Assigned duties are performed in a controlled office environment. In counties with District Offices, employees may be reassigned to different work sites due to operational needs. Reassignments will be made in compliance with contract language.
- Telework: This position may be eligible to telework part time. Specific details of the telework schedule will be discussed during the interview process. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Philadelphia, PA. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting hourly rate of $18.83 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Graduation from high school; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.

- This position also requires the selected candidate to be able to read, write, and speak in Spanish. You may be contacted for a Spanish speaking proficiency evaluation conducted by the Bureau of Talent Acquisition, PA Office of Administration. If contacted, you must pass the speaking evaluation in order to be deemed eligible for this position. Your proficiency in reading and writing in Spanish must be demonstrated during the probationary period to achieve regular status in the position.
