University of Pittsburgh Physicians (UPP00) is seeking an experienced and strategic Manager, Outreach PSD to support our operations located at 3600 Forbes Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA. The position requires occasional travel to referring physician practices, as needed, and is ideal for a collaborative leader with strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills who thrives in a healthcare environment focused on service excellence and continuous improvement.Responsibilities:
  • Manage strategy development and execution for Outreach Coordinators/Liaisons.Establish and maintain relationships with administration from each UPMC hospital and business line to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of referral functions is maximized.Maintains a daily log of physician visit activity. Participates in the preparation of all activity reporting for territory.Coordinates the CME physician outreach plan for local, regional and national forums based on UPMC strategic plan goals and requests from external facilities in designated territory.Coordinates the announcement of new faculty and hospital services to referring and community physicians through promotional materials and site visits in designated territory.Works in cooperation with Corporate Communications to create promotional materials for referring physicians including direct mail and web site communications. Systematically tracks sales calls and issues from referring physicians/EMS organizations.� Effectively communicates concerns and issues from referring physicians/EMS organizations with clinical leaders and administrators.Collaborate with the other departments to generate outcome data as needed to measure and trend performance indicators identified in the measuring and monitoring plan.
  • Research and develop new strategies and plans which identify marketing opportunities, and new project development.Identify and generate opportunities to attract potential and maintain existing referral sources including physicians and EMS leaders.Identify facilities capabilities and services to coordinate new program development in conjunction with facilities and referral sources based on the needs identified for their patient population.Participate in collaborative efforts among physicians and facilities administration to foster mutually beneficial relationships for enhancement of programs and services.Prepare and conduct information and in-services, presentations for physicians, clinicians and other hospitals.Lead efforts to develop, implement, evaluate and modify referrals process to allow for measuring and monitoring on an ongoing basis.Supports regional and national outreach efforts as set by corporate leadership for strategic service lines.Maintain the appropriate use of established resources coinciding with budget allocations to carry out planned initiatives that will ensure the attainment of growth targets.
  • Monitors referrals from external physicians/EMS Services and supports maintenance of a referring physician/EMS organizations database, which will be used for analysis, periodic reporting and direct mailings.Analyzes and establishes the strategic direction of the Outreach Coordinators/Liaisons including� outreach programs in all targeted areas.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Health Care, Business Administration or related field and 10 years of previous experience in healthcare sales or related physician relations required, 
  • OR RN License and 10 years of previous experience in healthcare sales or related physician relations required,
  •  OR statement with Master's Degree in Health Care, Business Administration or related field and 8 years of previous experience in healthcare sales or related physician relations required. 
  •  Knowledge of UPMC/STAT MedEvac clinical services preferred. 
  •  Demonstrated abilities in both verbal and written communications to a variety of personnel.
  • Ability to develop both internal and external relationships. 
  •  Demonstrated commitment to customer relationship management (CRM) principles.
  •  Demonstrated ability to use personal computers, phones, and the Internet.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Requires significant travel.
