ANCC Magnet designated UPMC Passavant is currently hiring a Full-Time Endoscopy Tech to support our GI Lab at the McCandless location.

Shift Details:

Responsibilities:

Maintain and care for all endoscopic equipment used in the GI Lab.
Ensure equipment is functioning properly prior to use.
Demonstrate knowledge of equipment operation and troubleshooting.
Provide backup support to Equipment Reprocessors as needed.
Maintain inventory, rotate stock, and restock procedure rooms.
Reorder supplies or notify the appropriate individual when replenishment is needed.
Return unused supplies and reusable equipment to designated storage areas.
Assist with specimen collection, labeling, documentation, and transport.
Consistently support coworkers and foster teamwork.
Promote effective communication and maintain a collaborative work environment.
Welcome and encourage constructive feedback.
Take responsibility for professional development.
Attend and review relevant departmental in-service programs.
Actively participate in GI Lab staff meetings and unit-based performance improvement initiatives.
Perform secretarial duties as needed.
Participate in self-evaluations as requested by the department manager.
Prepare procedure rooms with the appropriate endoscopes, equipment, and instruments.
Anticipate physician needs and required resources during procedures.
Demonstrate competency in all assigned skills and responsibilities.

High School Diploma or Equivalent
Previous employment or training as an Endoscopy Technician, Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, Surgical Tech, or other medical specialty such as Central Service Technician preferred.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
