Overview

The Campus and Community Recruiting Lead will be responsible for collaborating with 84 Lumber leadership and Recruiting Directors to develop regional campus and community strategies and identify, establish, and maintain partnerships with key community organizations and educational establishments that will fuel the 84 Lumber talent pipeline.


Responsibilities
  • Cultivate strong strategic partnerships by travelling to meet with educational institutions including trade schools, tech schools, and 4-year programs
  • Establish and maintain trusted relationships by travelling to meet with community organizations including workforce investment boards, career services organizations, job retraining agencies, chambers of commerce, FFAs, etc. to develop brand awareness
  • Develop, plan, and execute regional campus & community recruiting strategies and an annual event calendar in collaboration with recruiters and recruiting leads
  • Work with stakeholders to maintain a robust pipeline of candidates to support current and future hiring needs
  • Develop, plan, and execute 84 Lumber's participation and increased visibility at career fairs, conferences, industry events, and information sessions
  • Source, recruit, and hire interns across a wide range of roles
  • Advise leadership on impactful candidate market investment opportunities (sponsorships, etc.)
  • Lead searches and sourcing of candidates from partner organizations; manage candidates through applicant tracking database and recruiting process
  • Be a strategic partner to the recruiting team in order to build out more effective grass-roots campaigns
  • Manage all campus & community related digital platforms (ex. Handshake, Simplicity, Campus Job Boards, etc.)
  • Mentor and develop the Campus and Community Recruiter direct report

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has a direct report. 

Work Environment
The incumbent is located in a busy office area and is faced with interruptions on a regular basis.

Physical Demands
This position requires frequent sitting, use of hands, talking and listening. Periodically this position walks, stands and reaches.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Hours of work depends on store hours of operations, travel schedule and campus/community activities, 45+ hours per week.

Travel
This position requires up to 75% travel.

  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to maintain relationships 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excellent MS Office skills including Excel and PowerPoint

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Human resources, recruiting, or university relations experience
