This position oversees the Transportation and Groundskeeping Department by supervising staff, managing vehicle maintenance, and supporting daily operations. The role ensures that vehicles, buses, trucks, and equipment are serviced properly and meet required standards. As a Mechanic Supervisor, you will perform the following duties:
- Staff Oversight: Supervise mechanics, equipment operators, garage workers, and groundskeeping personnel
- Schedule Management: Implement schedule changes, address emergencies, and apply contract provisions for work assignments
- Vehicle Testing: Conduct road tests to diagnose defects and confirm the quality of repairs
- Preventive Maintenance: Direct and perform preventive care on vehicles, equipment, and parts
- Inspection Duties: Perform official state inspections, complete required records, and ensure compliance with specifications
- Accident Reporting: Investigate accidents involving vehicles or equipment and prepare detailed reports

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 1st shift (7:30 AM to 3:30 PM), Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Four years of journey level mechanical experience in the diagnosis and repair of automobiles, heavy trucks, or construction equipment; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirements:
- You must be in possession of an active Pennsylvania Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger and airbrake endorsements or equivalent.
- You must be in possession of an active Pennsylvania Inspection Mechanic Certification.
Other Requirements:

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
