This position focuses on supervising and training inmate workers while helping manage materials and supplies within the facility. The role supports both industry operations and safe storage practices essential to the institution. As a Corrections Stock Clerk, you will perform the following duties:

  • Worker Supervision: Guide inmate workers through daily tasks and monitor performance records
  • Inventory Control: Manage stock levels by receiving, storing, and issuing materials and preparing needed paperwork
  • Equipment Operation: Operate vehicles and machinery to move heavy items or remove scrap materials
  • Safety Enforcement: Maintain a secure work area by issuing tools, tracking materials, and conducting searches for contraband
  • Documentation Preparation: Create reports related to attendance, production, damaged goods, and other required records

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $44,524.00 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of stockroom, warehouse, retail sales, or clerical experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirement:

  • This position requires possession of an active motor vehicle license.

Additional Requirements:

  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
