Information Technology Generalist 1 - SCI Laurel Highlands

This position supports the information technology systems and network environment within SCI-Laurel Highlands. The work ensures reliable access to software, hardware, servers, and essential applications used throughout the institution. As an Information Technology Generalist 1, you will perform the following duties:

  • User Support: Provide assistance to staff on hardware, software, and system applications
  • System Analysis: Review current methods and design improved applications and processes
  • Network Maintenance: Monitor network systems and resolve hardware and software issues
  • Security Tasks: Manage user accounts, regulate permissions and maintain security measures
  • Technical Training: Guide and train lower-level staff in system methods and procedures
  • Equipment Management: Install, maintain and upgrade servers, workstations and peripherals

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. 
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $60,538 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Three years of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, networking or desktop services, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support/administration services; or
  • One year as an Information Technology Trainee or Information Technology Technician (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • One year of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, networking or desktop services, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support/administration services, and an associate's degree in any information technology field; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
