We are seeking an Engineering Project Assistant for assignment in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The selected candidate will assist the engineering lead with administrative tasks that include: maintaining the discipline design package schedule, tracking design reviews sign-offs, reviewing design package checklists for completion and assist with onboarding and off-boarding design staff with the project team.
Hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
This position can work a hybrid schedule in Pittsburgh
Responsibilities
- Interfacing with the overall engineering discipline lead and sub-leads
- Organizing administrative data and engineering data
- Interfacing with project level document control, design automation group and the discipline department managers
- Taking meeting notes at discipline organizational meetings
- Maintain revision control of discipline tools such as equipment lists, calculations and schedules
- Coordinating with department managers to plan the onboarding and offboarding of staff to the project team
- Coordinate with the project document control team for the submission of package supporting documents and checklists for each design package submittal
- Track design changes
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines (engineering teams) to share data
- Understand and apply client safety standards in design and everyday activities
- Actively cooperate with members of your project task force, client personnel and members of your department, as appropriate
- Look for ways to reduce project cost and schedule and for ways to improve our work processes
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 10+ years experience in project delivery design
- Knowledge of document control processes
- Knowledge and application of engineering design and document standards
- Knowledge and understanding of work / information flow between disciplines
- Knowledge and understanding of schedule constraints and information requirements for the production of deliverables
- Familiarity with project delivery methods that are typical for architectural / engineering lead designs
- A project management / engineering background is highly preferred
