Event Services Operations Staff (Laborer)

This position helps prepare, maintain, and restore facilities so events at the Farm Show Complex run smoothly and safely.  As a Event Services Operations Staff, you will perform the following duties:


  • Event Setup: Haul, place, and teardown tables, chairs, stages, gates, furniture, and other event equipment
  • Facility Cleaning: Sweep, mop, scrub floors, and remove trash, manure, and debris from indoor and outdoor areas
  • Livestock Assistance: Assemble, repair, clean, and dismantle stalls, pens, and cages while working safely around animals
  • Grounds Care: Rake debris, remove branches, shovel snow, and keep complex entrances clean
  • Custodial Work: Clean restrooms, wash windows, stock supplies, and maintain common areas
  • Material Handling: Load and unload straw, hay, feed, scrap metal, and wood from trucks and trailers

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, Thursday - Monday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.
  • Free on-site parking.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • No previous experience or training required.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

  • Experience working around animals and livestock
  • Experience working in large-scale public events
  • Experience operating power and hand tools.
  • Ability to perform duties in environmental conditions including adverse weather and exposure to dirt, dust, and hay
