This position focuses on clerical support, customer service, and organizing information for the Erie City Housing Authority. It requires clear communication, careful recordkeeping, and steady assistance with office activities. As a Clerk 2, you will perform the following duties:
- Front Desk Support: Greet visitors, direct individuals to the correct office, and manage incoming phone calls
- Mail Processing: Open, sort, and distribute mail and other incoming materials
- Document Preparation: Type forms, envelopes, reports, labels, policies, and lease agreements
- Eligibility Assistance: Calculate income, apply required deductions, and prepare letters for eligibility decisions
- Public Inquiry Response: Provide information on program guidelines, requirements, and housing availability
- Data Entry Tasks: Enter information into computer systems and maintain accurate records
The Housing Authority of the City of Erie exists to provide safe, decent, and affordable housing for lower-income families, elderly, and persons with disabilities. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six months as a Clerk 1 and educational development to the level of the eighth grade; or
- Completion of a high school business curriculum; or
- Any equivalent experience and/or training which provided the required knowledges and abilities.

- Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Erie County. If no eligible candidates who live within Erie County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
