The David C. Frederick Honors College (FHC) is seeking an energetic Student Programs Coordinator to support the Office of Student Services. Reporting to the Director of Student Services, the incumbent will develop and implement programming that engages students and builds community within the FHC. The ideal candidate brings strong organizational and event-planning skills, experience managing all aspects of programming, including transportation logistics when required, proficiency with the full MS Office suite, and a collaborative approach to working within the FHC and across campus.
Assists in the organization and development of student activities and coordination of special events. Advises student organizations and students on programs and services. Attends student-sponsored social events, monitors organizations' financials and performs reconciliations, and ensures compliance with all University policies. Publicizes student events, assists in developing promotional materials, and registers and monitors new student organizations and requests.
In this role, the coordinator will work closely with the Director of Student Services to plan and execute FHC student events, communicating clearly and effectively with both internal and external audiences, including student groups. Additional responsibilities include preparing reports and correspondence, safeguarding sensitive and confidential information, and managing multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously. Success in this position depends on the ability to build effective, harmonious relationships with faculty, students, and staff, along with a student-centered approach and sensitivity to the needs of a diverse student population.
The ideal candidate is an excellent written and oral communicator who can work independently while remaining adaptable amid ambiguity and change. A bachelor's degree and two years of experience in student affairs, higher education administration, or related student programs is required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be able to stand up to an hour at a time. Must be able to lift up to 20lbs. Some walking around campus will be necessary.
