Title: Cloud DevOps Engineer (AWS)

Location: Pittsburgh, PA (3 days on-site/hybrid)

Duration: Contract to Hire


Key Responsibilities
| CloudOps & DevOps

  • Manage and support cloud-hosted applications running in AWS environments.
  • Design, implement, and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
  • Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines to support automated application deployments.
  • Monitor system health, availability, performance, and cloud resource utilization using CloudWatch and other observability tools.
  • Support production environments, troubleshoot incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventative solutions.
  • Manage containerized workloads using Docker and support container orchestration platforms when applicable.
  • Optimize AWS infrastructure for reliability, scalability, security, and cost efficiency.
  • Collaborate with development teams to improve deployment processes, operational readiness, and platform stability.
  • Implement cloud security best practices and assist with compliance initiatives.
  • Develop automation solutions that reduce manual operational effort and improve system reliability.
  • Participate in on-call support and production issue resolution as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of experience supporting cloud-based applications and infrastructure.
  • Strong hands-on AWS experience, including:
    • EC2
    • Lambda
    • S3
    • RDS
    • CloudWatch
    • IAM
    • VPC
    • ECS/EKS
  • Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
  • Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with Docker and containerized application deployments.
  • Experience monitoring and supporting production environments.
  • Strong understanding of cloud architecture, security, networking, and operational best practices.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex application, infrastructure, and deployment issues.
  • Experience working with source control systems and DevOps workflows.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect
  • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer
  • AWS Certified Developer Associate
  • Professional experience with C#, .Net Framework and REST API s is highly desired.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, EKS, or other container orchestration solutions.
  • Experience with observability platforms such as Datadog, Splunk, New Relic, Grafana, or Prometheus.
  • Experience supporting mission-critical production environments.
  • Knowledge of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles.
  • Experience implementing cloud security best practices and governance controls.
  • Experience automating operational processes through scripting or software development.
  • Experience optimizing cloud spend and resource utilization.
  • Experience supporting highly available, scalable cloud-native architectures.
