Title: Cloud DevOps Engineer (AWS)
Location: Pittsburgh, PA (3 days on-site/hybrid)
Duration: Contract to Hire
Key Responsibilities | CloudOps & DevOps
- Manage and support cloud-hosted applications running in AWS environments.
- Design, implement, and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
- Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines to support automated application deployments.
- Monitor system health, availability, performance, and cloud resource utilization using CloudWatch and other observability tools.
- Support production environments, troubleshoot incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventative solutions.
- Manage containerized workloads using Docker and support container orchestration platforms when applicable.
- Optimize AWS infrastructure for reliability, scalability, security, and cost efficiency.
- Collaborate with development teams to improve deployment processes, operational readiness, and platform stability.
- Implement cloud security best practices and assist with compliance initiatives.
- Develop automation solutions that reduce manual operational effort and improve system reliability.
- Participate in on-call support and production issue resolution as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
- 4+ years of experience supporting cloud-based applications and infrastructure.
- Strong hands-on AWS experience, including:
- EC2
- Lambda
- S3
- RDS
- CloudWatch
- IAM
- VPC
- ECS/EKS
- Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
- Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with Docker and containerized application deployments.
- Experience monitoring and supporting production environments.
- Strong understanding of cloud architecture, security, networking, and operational best practices.
- Experience troubleshooting complex application, infrastructure, and deployment issues.
- Experience working with source control systems and DevOps workflows.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer
- AWS Certified Developer Associate
- Professional experience with C#, .Net Framework and REST API s is highly desired.
- Experience with Kubernetes, EKS, or other container orchestration solutions.
- Experience with observability platforms such as Datadog, Splunk, New Relic, Grafana, or Prometheus.
- Experience supporting mission-critical production environments.
- Knowledge of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles.
- Experience implementing cloud security best practices and governance controls.
- Experience automating operational processes through scripting or software development.
- Experience optimizing cloud spend and resource utilization.
- Experience supporting highly available, scalable cloud-native architectures.
