This position focuses on acquiring the goods and services needed to support key programs across the department. The role requires careful attention to policies, vendor interactions, and purchasing systems. As a Purchasing Agent, you will perform the following duties:
- Policy Knowledge: Apply extensive understanding of all purchasing rules and systems
- Solicitation Work: Prepare and conduct procurement solicitations to secure needed commodities and services
- Contract Support: Assist subject matter experts with contract administration and purchasing activities
- Compliance Focus: Follow the requirements of the Right-to-Know Law and support small business initiatives
- Issue Resolution: Address delivery concerns, invoice conflicts, and proper goods receipt processing

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $46,827.00 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three years of experience in purchasing work involving contact with vendors in the procurement of a variety of supplies, materials, equipment, or services; or
- Three years of experience in requisitioning, receiving, storing, distributing, and maintaining inventory of goods; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training. Post-high school education may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for purchasing or stores experience to a maximum of two years.
Additional Requirement:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.

- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
